Nice blog. I too, have suffered at the hands of Gill and his super-cheap attacks. You had a pretty slick combo with Alex, though. I'll have to try it some time.

interesting topic for discussion! I'll admit I have seen this sort of thing occur in movies as well as anime. However Lucy's case (from Elfen Lied is somewhat more complicated than that as you mentioned she hates humans, thats because she isn't one all horned children (dicloni) reach a certain age where they snap learn how to their vectors (those invisible hands) and when this occurs they kill all surrounding human beings, because it's in their genetic makeup.
Rather than rant on about this I'll be blunt the Elfen Lied anime is a special case its true that normal kids cant kill however the dicloni children will do it out pure instinct for the duration where they become aware of their abilitys

Kyrie is actually derived from "Kyrie, eleison," which is a common Greek phrase in Christian prayers, meaning "O Lord, have mercy." It's probably better known by its Latin counterpart, "Domine, miserere."

World Destruction was a huge disappointment to me as well. I pretty much started watching it because the name sounded cool, and the ONLY reason I kept watching it up 'til the end was because I realized, for as much as the series bored the hell out of me, I wanted to see how it ended.

I actually didn't really care much for Morte, either. If you take her as a character apart from her various issues/her desire to destroy the world, she's pretty cool. But her reasons for wanting to destroy the world, especially how they persevere in the face of lots and lots of evidence that it's not as bad as she's convinced it is, were so dumb I just couldn't like her. (I also hated how Kyrie and Toppi consistently failed to ask her WHY she wanted to destroy the world. Seriously, that was the first question out of my mouth when Morte made that declaration.) Also, I wanted to like the silver-haired guy because I liked his personality/design/voice except he got no worthwhile development so he ended up being incredibly boring too. And Kyrie didn't bother me so much, but you're definitely right in that he was completely useless as a lead. Other than these points, I agree with you 100% on everything you said.

I hear the game is better, though, so I'm glad to hear that. Wish they hadn't changed the title to Sands of Destruction; although it certainly makes sense given context, World Destruction just has a certain eye-catching appeal to it.
