This is what those who follow the path of the sword gain…
Mad slicing skills.
Chibification makes everything funny.
Well the music for OP and ED were pretty similar; they both had uppity J-pop songs (though the ED was a bit more techno(ish)), but the OP turned me off a lot more than the ED, as the latter had Chibification ^_^.
Bullet Summary:
Kann-u, a wandering swordswoman known as the “Black Haired Bandit-Hunter”, comes across a town where the mischievous Rin-Rin Bandits, a group of kids, are playing pranks on the town mayor. The mayor eventually gets fed up with this decides to punish the group’s leader, Chouhi, who’s parents and grandfather had died previously. However, Kann-u steps forward and offers to do it herself. The two eventually fight and by talking with her, Chouhi breaks down in tears as she is so ronery. As she has lost the battle, Chouhi is made to apologize to the mayor and Kann-u offers her the chance to go with her on a path to “change the world”. Chouhi accepts, and the two head off together after being seen off by the other members of the Rin-Rin Bandits.
What could you expect from an eroge adaptation? The only good one I’ve seen is Fate/Stay Night, but compared to this, its class A stuff. The show really bored me. Though Chibification is the ultimate comedic tool, there wasn’t much of it, and the comedy that was there wasn’t really well done. As for the characters, you can kind of glean from the show what their histories are; we’re told outright that Chuhi lost her parents and grandfather, and from a dream/flashback it turns out that Kann-u’s village was attacked and her brother killed. There’s nothing much to say about either of them; I don’t know anything about the Romance of the Three Kingdoms so prior knowledge isn’t a reference, and apparently a lead character called Liu Bei is missing, so that doesn’t bode well either. Chouhi’s really full of energy whcich is always fun, and Kann-u’s SRS BSNESS most of the time which is also fun. They’re the perfect counter-parts, whoulda thunk they would’ve met!
Though not fantastic, the fight was well choreographed (only one speed line in the whole thing!), though there were random shots of the sky in a bid to show “time passing”. Not the best animation but well done (during the fight). I don’t even remember a single track of the BGM and I saw the show about 20 minutes ago so that’s not good.
There’s really nothing else to say. It wasn’t disappointing since I had no expectations, but it wasn’t that good, especially compared to other shows of the season. I’ll give it one more, but I doubt it’ll impress.
Between Ikkitousen and this, Koihime Musou sounds a little more fun, as long I get my yuri subtext here and there peppered with some decent fight scenes.
But Ikkiotousen has the yuri, decent fights, energy beams and Hakufu . What more could you want?
I do know the background of the romance of the three kingdom.
However, I am not exactly impressed how they make fun of such historical characters…by changing them into annoying little and big boobies woman…
But as a guy, I might put that aside…but this show really have no appeal to me besides the fan service…
More importantly, how can they leave Liu Bei out of the equation….?
Liu Bei is equally historically important and yet they leave him out…It makes the show lose some appeal but the amount of fan service might compensate for it though….but still…
[…] still makes everything […]
