Kirie is still a complete douche.
Prepare to be completely and utterly amazed…
Turns out he’s a ghost who was waiting for his lover even after death, because of a promise he made to meet her at the Sakura tree and his spirit remained as he blah blah blah, whatever. In my opinion, this kind of thing that can definitely classify as cliche. It would’ve been fine if he had simply been alive and continued waiting for his lost lover, who’s fate he never knew of despite what promise they’d made and had the episode ended like that, I would’ve thought it was an okay storyline, but making him a ghost kind of cheapens it by turning it into standard RPG fare. I mean, helping a ghost to fulfil his wish? Come on. What’s even worse is that they show an old woman walking towards them on their way out of Springland (what a stupid name by the way) who is, you guessed it, the missing lover. Just, why? An unhappy yet optimistic ending would’ve been a nice deviation from the formula, but alas, no. At least we didn’t have a sappy and tearful reunion between Jade and his lover, that would’ve been too much. The best two things about this episode was Lia kicking ass and the fact the production values are back to normal. I also like the fact the titles of the episode are always “There are two paths for…”. What a limiting, simplifing tool.
Kirie of the Twenty Faces.
Fear the Frog King, with his powers to cut down trees and smell flowers!
Fear him!
It’s because she wants to punch you in the face.
Shame you bruise like a peach.
…
*facepalm*
I’d hoped you’d burn the tree to the ground somehow die screaming.
If only…
That’s right, go around toting the Cursed Sakura Tree branch that fills the townsfolk with fear.
Maybe you’ll be able to get food and shelter if you beat them with it, too!
Mmmm, Sakura Morte :3
The lack of detail makes it look like delicious Candy Floss.
Teddy ’bout to rape you.
Mmmm, clumsy Lia.
Though not as good as clumsy C.C.
I thought that this meant you were going to beat him up.
How disappointing…
A round of applause for the writers of this show.
This is just funny :3
You ’bout to raep chicken.
Go on, get him girl!
Angry Lia is the best character so far.
Let’s just shove that revelation in their face a bit more, shall we?
Next Time:
Toppi gets to beating down on his enemies.
