Love the pain.
Though I liked this episode, and though it was better than the last two, there was still the problem of too much exposition in confined and/or inappropiate places. The entire first half of the episode looked great (or maybe that’s just because I like PEW PEW LAZORS) but what confuses me is why, during a life-threatening situation with his right hand being destroyed right in front of him, did Touma decide to go on a spiel/ give a pep talk to Stiyl and Kanzaki? Oh, but the jumps in logic don’t stop there; if I remember correctly, Touma’s apartment is about 7 metres each side, and yet it somehow took him 3 minutes running at full pelt to reach Index. At one point, you can actually see him dashing and going absolutely nowhere. I know that at times anime needs filler to pace the episodes well, but that’s just weird and/or lazy. And yet it still doesn’t stop. Having been told that the feathers of DOOM would DOOM him, Touma decides to walk towards Index, who’s surrounded by DOOM feathers and stand in the middle of the DOOM feathers. I wunder wat hppned nxt o_O?
Didn’t see that coming.
I must say, that was a nice looking scene, with Touma lying on Index as white feathers fell down from above. Too bad it was marred by the slightly poor execution of what preceeded it.
Wait-a-trollĀ JCStaff. He has amnesia. But he doesn’t have amnesia, j/k! No, really, he has amnesia. I knew this show had a penchant for crappy science, but the fact that the DOOM feathers only managed to destroy his memories and nothing relating to his motor-fucntions or other necessities for everyday life is kind of suspicious. Then I remember LOLANIME. I like the fact that though we’ve somehow managed to transfer the memory loss problem, Touma still retains the inherent qualities which made him appealing as a character. If he had turned into a snivelling oaf, I would’ve been pissed off. Though I’m still pissed off as he made Index cry.
You bastard.
If someone asked me “What’s something you’d expect never to see in To Aru Majutsu no Index?”, my answer would probably be “Vampires”. Well, lo and behold, here come vampires. Apparently, evil upside-down Cake man General Superintendent Aleister, the one in control of all the computers here in Academy City, has announced the possible maybe existence of Deep Blood, which, from what I could gather, is a being meant to destroy vampires. Also of note: Stiyl and Touma will be teaming up as a crime fighting duo of destruction.
A guy in a dress.
Floating upside down.
With a crooked smile on his face.
Linked to every machine in Academy City.
This won’t go horribly wrong at all.
Next Time:
INDEX PURAY POWAH!
