Whoever wins, we lose. To MOE.
This post is completely full of fanboyism and bias. There is no such thing as common sense or justification only how I feel about the two most loveable female characters in an anime that I’ve ever seen (except for Kino. But she’s a trap so meh) Minorin and Taiga. But who shall be the true recipient of my undying devotion until something happens in the anime to put me off their cahracters which will NEVER HAPPEN LALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU.
Reasons to love The Palmtop Tiger
The Loliness.
Note: Not a lolicon. But, am a moe-con, where moe means deadly cute. Who wouldn’t want a portable moeblob? Case and point:
Moeblobs can defeat even the most gangster of men.
The Tsundereness
Everyone knows the equation = tsun+dere = WIN. But when Taiga get’s deredere, she gets very deredere.
The Dominatrixness/Violenceness
You could claim that this was a part of the “tsun”-ness of Taiga, were it not for the fact that she also has the power to move like a speedboat in water and annihilate swimming pool tables. And who doesn’t love having a woman able to kick their ass? ❤ Violent Taiga. She makes pain feel so good. <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3.
Reasons to love Minorin
The Randomness
You never know what the hell this girl’s going to do. Seriously, I doubt anyone saw the above moment coming. And if you did, you are capable of seeing into Minorin’s soul to the extent I can only dream of. DAMN YOU.
The Genkiness
Who couldn’t love Minorin’s energy which is enough to light 1000 cities? From eating, to playing baseball, to ZORU ZORU picking names out of a hat, she always adds that little spice of Minorin magic.
The Semi-Simpletoness
Innocent, pure, honest and true, Minorin both acts delightfully oblivious and maintains wondeful relationships with everyone she knows. She’s the type of person you cannot hate. At all. And if you do, GTFO.

So with this, the scores should be 3-3 and there should be a ties, should there not? BUT!
One of the characters has an unfair and almost incapacitating advantage:
THE GREATEST MAD OF ALL TIME
CAN’T STOP LOVING!
Therefore I declare the victor, despite all my mentions of Taigasms, Minorin!
Disputes, disapproval, or different opinions can be mentioned below. Won’t change the fact that, as of episode 8, I ❤ Minorin the most :3.
MINORIN IS LOVE, her genkiness is made of SPIRAL ENERGY. I feel bad for Ryuji because I think he’ll get a Taiga end. I mean Taiga’s fiiine, but won’t trade her for a Minowin.
Sorry…I’m all for Minorin. LoL!
Ami for me…
….
…
..
.
JK! TAIGA ALL THE WAY!!! ^_^
Genki is good…but tsundere is better. At least in my opinion… >_>
You’re dead to me!!!! And to Taiga… so you’re dead to us both! I love Minorin, but Taiga beats all, especially after episode 8. She showed the real dere dere we were all dying to see in episode 8, which is why she’s still my favorite 😀
tenori Taiga 4ever~~~~~
TAIGA!
Taiga for me but MinoWIN isn’t far behind 🙂
my favorite show of the season but these are the two characters i’m still uneasy about. i’m still watching the show because of ryuuji. 😀 taiga’s better on my books though, compared to the uber genki minorin.
HEY HEY HEY~
Yeah Minorin for me. On this debate…..
But Setokaichou (Sumire) is who I love with her awesome punkish voice “OI GOMI-DOMO!” (yes I do realize she only has had 3-4 lines so far)
I love taiga and all, but it’s minorin who really makes this show a lot funnier for me with her randomness and genkiness. So MINORIN all the way ^^
I really love Taiga’s tsundere-ness and adorable expressions but Minori provides a lot of fun and spice to the show… Argh it’s so hard to decide… But one thing’s sure for me: I HATE Ami XD.
I’m not a big fan of “genki characters”, but every now and then some girl makes me laugh so hardly I can’t even think about stop loving her :3
There you have Mashimaro’s Miu, PPD’s Himeko and now TD’s Minorin… energetic-randomness FTW!!!
@ghostlightning
Could it be that GARness resides in Minorin as well?!
@53RG10
I hear you like lolis…
@nazarielle
I may be dead to you, but I still have Minorin, and therefore it’s all good ^^
@Kairu Ishimaru and tsuiteru
There shall be a time when you are swayed to the right side.
@biankita
I guess I overlooked Ryuuji’s… EYES OF GANGSTA as a factor in this competition.
@Avisch
I hear you like teh dominatrixness…
@eipu
Let us rejoice! ZORUZORUZORUZORU.
@kanzeon
Ambivalence will get you nowhere. And Ami wasn’t even remotely in the running.
@amalek
Random-energeticness ftw!
@omisyth: I tried to hide that under “tsundere”…you’re pretty sharp…
[…] This post might help, too. For the record, I agree with the author’s conclusion as much as India and Pakistan agree about their shared border. But hey, nobody’s perfect. […]
[…] There was nothing too amazing about Toradora initially, but then again few shows have started out by completely capturring their audience. It was simple, a light-hearted romcom with charismatic characters that were easy to like. Once the show had sucked us in with a good first impression, it immediately started demonstrating a technique that’s not mormally present in the romantic genre: subtley. There were lines of dialogue and key scenes that resonated strongly with the viewer, allowing us to empathise with the characters and their, as of then, friendship with each other. From the “shed” scene in episode 3 to the “pool scene” in epsiode 8 the show we were continuously shown twists on traditional stereotypes. It maintained a balance of comedy well, along with messages on the nature of friendship . Although, this is more in retrospect. Back then I was too busy drooling over Minori and Taiga. […]
