Everyone likes to make their blog look nice with the chaging of seasons, celebgrations or specific events. I hate those people. Damn you Kairu. Damn you to hell.
I’m so tired of seeing Christmans advice/banners/themes popping up now that the accursed holiday is approaching. I used to like Christmas. A cup of hot cocoa, a christmas treee with the obligatory star/angel as well as presents tucked neatly under aforementioned tree, compassionately labeled with the names of loved ones with a light little Christmas jingle playing in the background. That sort of idealised vision is bullshit. No-one has a Christmas like that, instead it’s about chaos, commercialisation and companionship strained to breaking point by a holiday that causes stress for 25 times longer than its actual length.
Of course, when it comes to Christmas I cannot even escape into the boundless region of the Internet without coming cacross its influence. This being my first Christmas as a member of the comunity, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I had an inkling that soon we’d be seeing the same crap that happened over Halloween, onyl this time with more . “EVERYONE IT’S CHRISTMAS IN A MEASLY 18 DAYS YOU SHOULD BE CELEBRATING AND BEING HAPPY AND CHANGING YOUR BLOG IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEASON ESPECIALLY THE BANNER DON’T FORGET THE BANNER CHRISTMASCHRISTMASCHRISTMASFALALALALALALALALA!!!!!!!” I could attribute my irritation to the fact I have absolutely no CSS, Photoshopping and /or HTML skills, but why should I justify myself from being painted into a corner by my compatriots?
Anime blogs should be kept to anime/Japanese culture and the occasional RL rant or troll, preferrably concerning some form of angst. Gimmicky holiday posts like this one are just ways for people to seperate themselves for those they might call “misers”. “Springtime of youth” and “tis the season” are hollow and meaningless phrases meant only for the ignorant to fool themselves.
BAH! HUMBUG! are the only words I have to say for those who have customised their oh-so-precious blogs for this season.
