Just replace “Rocks Fall” with “A Demonic Samurai Girl and Face-Hugging, Mind-Control Jellyfish Arrive” and that’s pretty much what happened.
Killing off the entire main cast is definitely the way to grab someone’s attention, and Ga-rei’s succeded in doing that. Not that that was the only good part of the show. The backstory of the main character (or at least I’ll presume as such) with the Blue Butterflies of Ominous Doom/ White Haired Crazy Shota seems interesting (made even more so by the fact that the one who was telling him to shoot his sister/friend was the samurai girl who ended up killing him) and the entire premise includes demon killing which is always a plus. The music was pretty much non-stop through the first part of the episode, so thank god it was good, though it kind of gave everything a more grandiose sense than I think the scenes warranted.
Motorbikes are deadly weapons too.
Highlights of the episode (other than the indiscriminate slaughter of the main cast) have to be the GIANT CG ROLING DINOUSAUR ON FIRE (that was just hilarious) and Motorbike Martial Arts. Also curious to see what all those symbols are for, though anything that can dissolve zombies must be good. The animation and general designs were great, especially the game of “chicken” with the rolling dinosaur. I guess small twin pistols beat huge, firey, demonic monsters now. No OP or ED, though the credits rolling when the fire continued to burn and crackle in the background was a nice touch.
That’s not disturbing in anyway.
I hope they continue from this point, as though it can be interesting, a long flashback arc looking at how we got here could also make the series incredibly tedious. But otherwise, I’m on the fence about blogging but I’ll definitely check out the next ep.
Of course you’ll check out the next episode because I love it, so everyone else should love it
THIS IS AWESOMENESS. But if they tend to use this as the final episode that was put first chronologically, then this show would be totally useless…
The ending for episode 1 totally shocked me. How are they going to continue a series where everyone is dead? Some flashback series? Geez, I dislike flash back series. =_=
@blissmo
Not everyone loves everything you love. Or maybe we do. ARE YOU HYPNOTIZING US?!?!?!
@kanzeon and Hoshi
If thos goes into a huge amount of exposition, it will have been one of the worst follow-ups to a great premiere I’ve ever seen.
YES, somebody covered it!! I can’t wait XD so excited.
They better not mess this up, cause I want a good explanation of why everyone’s dead.
GAH. No edit button? Anyhow, you’re talking to Hynavian, aren’t you?
