And that’s a damn shame.
Overall, this series both bored and surprised me. The first 15 minutes or so were kind of a slog, a mixture of good character/set designs, drama, and awkward periods of silence. And a bit of what seemed to be time travel until it was revealed that Kuro is most likely immortal at the end. At the same time, we got some KICKASS fight scenes, with an extreme amount of gore that really woke me up at the end of the episode. I was more surprised by the fact Kuromitsu wasn’t completely evil, than the fact she couldn’t die. Frankly, I’m happy we’re not staying in the Feudal Japan era; sword fighting, samurai and ninjas in a more modern (post-apocalyptic?) setting is much more interesting.
The OP was crazy heavy, HEAVY metal which sounded a lot likeĀ “What’s Up People?!” (the second Death Note OP), but I thought that the animation was quite good. The ED was average at best, though, not much to write home about. I like the gore and the setting of the show so I’ll stick around for a while. The manga’s finished anyway, so there should be ample material to cover the series and hopefully get to that Jet-Powered Rocket Sword I saw at some point.
I will be waiting solely for this moment in the series.
OP was horrible. Never heard one so bad. Worse than DN’s 2nd OP.
By the way, I wonder how they’re gonna make up for all the censored scenes…
Ugh….I actually found the future setuff to be the least interesting aspect of the series. It basically lost all mystery and just became an action fest.
I have nothing against action fests. But the action wasn’t what got me into the series.
Also the anime has a chance to have a MUCH better conclusion than the manga…cause to me the manga just cuts-off.
@ffviiknight
Too bad I liked DN’s second op :p
@Avisch
As long as I get my action fests, I’ll be satisfied; that is the reason I’m going to watch the series.
